Why China?

Although Triton maintains a few suppliers in India and Vietnam, Chinese suppliers are more in demand from our customers because:

  • Low labor rates

  • Internationally, labor is much more cost efficient.  In China, the hourly labor cost for a job is approximately 1/10 of the cost in North America.

  • Hard-working and disciplined people

  • It is a Chinese tradition to "get rich by working hard, rather than by speculating". That's one reason typical Chinese workers are very diligent. It is also easier to mobilize the work force to deliver priority jobs in a very short lead time.

  • Abundant indigenous raw materials

  • China is rich in natural resources including natural gas, crude oil, minerals, and rare earth elements. Indigenous materials include iron and steel, aluminum, and natural rubber. Brass is also available at a competitive market price.

  • A well-developed industrial infrastructure
China was isolated from the western world between 1949 and 1978. During that period, China relied on its own efforts to build their industrial infrastructure (though with the aid from former Soviet Union in the 1950s). China's achievements in the aerospace and defense industries became catalysts for other industries.
